The Lore

I first picked up a camera in secondary school, photographing Friday assemblies and school events. That spark led me to study Mass Communications and dive into sports photography—capturing mountain biking and Thai boxing, two of my passions then.

After National Service, I moved to Melbourne to study photography. But when I graduated, I decided that I needed a break from photography and decided to try another curiosity of mine: Cooking. That is how I ended up spending the next 3 years in kitchens learning discipline, precision, and respect for craft.

Returning to Singapore, I rediscovered photography through food—where my time in kitchens gave me a unique understanding of chefs and their work. Today, I focus on creating images and films that let the food and the people behind it truly shine.

A Rice Eater Production

What can you expect from a Rice Eater Production?

I specialise in small to medium-scale photo and video productions. Operating with a lean team—usually just myself, an assistant, and occasionally a food stylist—means things move quickly, communication stays direct, and every project gets personal attention.

Without the layers of a big agency, I’m able to work closely with clients to understand their needs, adapt quickly, and deliver efficiently. This flexibility also lets me tailor my services to suit a wide range of budgets—from simple monthly social media shoots to full-scale video campaigns for new menu launches and store openings.

Services

These are the services that I offer:

• KV Photography
• Social media Photography

• Short form videos (30-60 secs)

• Mid form videos (2-5mins)

• Video clips package (great for building video asset libraries, Instagram stories and carousel posts)
